Specialized Programs

Our award-winning SECME (Science, Engineering, Communication, Mathematics, and Enrichment) team empowers students to explore real-world STEM challenges through collaborative engineering design. Participants engage in hands-on activities such as bridge building, water bottle rockets, and coding. SECME fosters problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork, equipping students with essential 21st-century skills. Students also build confidence as they present their work in competitions and develop a strong sense of accomplishment and pride.

The Silver Palms VEX Robotics Team inspires young innovators to design, build, and code competitive robots. Through friendly competition, students apply STEM principles while enhancing their collaboration, perseverance, and time management skills. We are especially proud that our VEX Robotics Team has qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship two years in a row, showcasing their exceptional talent, creativity, and teamwork on an international stage. Participation in VEX strengthens logical thinking and builds a strong foundation in engineering and innovation.

Our award-winning Debate Team sharpens students’ public speaking, research, and reasoning abilities. Through structured argument and respectful discourse, students learn to express their ideas clearly, listen actively, and consider multiple viewpoints. Silver Palms debaters have earned top honors in district competitions, demonstrating excellence in communication, leadership, and persuasive thinking. Debate enhances critical thinking, boosts self-confidence, and promotes respectful dialogue, all skills that benefit students academically and socially.

The Silver Palms Chorus provides students a joyful and expressive musical experience while teaching harmony, discipline, and collaboration. As students rehearse and perform, they build vocal technique, stage presence, and self-confidence. Our award-winning Chorus is recognized for its outstanding vocal performances at district and community events. Chorus helps students connect, create, and celebrate the power of music while promoting teamwork and emotional expression.

Chess Club at Silver Palms cultivates strategic thinking, patience, and concentration. Students learn to plan ahead, anticipate outcomes, and practice good sportsmanship. Chess promotes mental discipline and provides a fun, challenging environment for students to interact, compete, and grow socially.

Math Club challenges students to engage in creative problem-solving while strengthening fluency and mathematical thinking. Through games, contests, and hands-on activities, students develop persistence, logic, and a love for math, all while building confidence and collaboration skills.

Our Fine Arts Club nurtures student creativity through visual and performing arts. It proudly features and celebrates the talents of our Dual Language students, providing them with an outlet to express their language and cultural identity through art. Fine Arts builds self-expression, appreciation for the arts, and collaboration, while fostering a sense of pride and community.
